Me and my boy

The teeth! Posted by Hello

DH has been away since Friday morning at a conference (BAP which makes me laugh - you'll get it if you're northern - it's British Association of Planetariums) and I was not looking forward to 48 hours on my own with Oscar, lovely though he is. I hate being on my own - as you know, I go out all the time with him so I'm not stuck in the house.

But we've had a lovely lovely time! Yesterday we went to the library for a baby bounce singing session, then met friends in the afternoon. I had a nice quiet evening with my Charles De Lint book and a chinese takeaway. Went to bed early.

Today we went swimming this morning and then shopping in the afternoon - then my Mum came round to visit. Oscar was charming EVERYONE in the supermarket by giggling his head off. He went down like a dream for his naps today and has just gone to bed like an angel - he hasn't really cried or winged once today. A total pleasure.

So while we've missed DH a lot (Oscar was looking everywhere for him this morning in the bedroom), it's actually been lovely.

DH will be home tonight but very late. Can't wait to see him in the morning.

Oh, won't sweet baby Oz's face just LIGHT UP when he sees his daddy tomorrow morning?

Just adorable. Good Reeve family genes showing through, obviously. Can't wait to see him again.

Now do you have to start brushing those little teeth, so he gets used to the habit of it?

Sometimes my absolute favourite times are just me and Alfie. I do think that they aren't torn between you, you aren't balancing your attention, if they are in the mood to play you off against each other, they can't, and it's just about the two of you. I'm really looking forward to the Summer when me and A will have five weeks together.

Get that toothbrush out now - he needs to get used to it! We sing the Toothbrush Song - do you know it? "Brush, brush, brush/You mustn't rush, rush, rush/When you clean your tee-eeth in the morning". I always do it operatically which makes Alfie really giggle as the bathroom is all echoey.

we have been brushing his gums for a few weeks and now he has teeth we're using toothpaste too. It's part of his bedtime routine - good song though Zo - what's the tune?

How sweet is Oscar!! I eally enjoy my time on my own with J+L. I think its the fact that you're not relying on anyone else too and you can do it all on your own-such a feeling of acheivement too when I get them both in bed and the evening is my own!

You know the tune to the "brush, brush brush" song.. it was on Playaway. Mum can probably sing it to you. Or if she can't, let me know and I'll remind you of it.. it had a little tag on the end of it.. "when you clean your teeeth in the morning (and last thing at night), in the morning (and last thing at night), in the morning." Ah, childhood memories...
