Self portrait. A rare one where he isn't pulling faces at the camera....
My life really - how do you describe that? Read it and see.... I was photo-a-daying for a while but now it's just my rambling...

Very proud...after a bumpy start, Oscar got awarded the Headteacher's Award for his homework. And we've had a really good week. So proud of him. His ADHD makes his life difficult but with some hard work, he can come through. YAY Oscar!

We also went to Howletts Zoo on the Sunday which is a fantastic place - the largest collection of gorillas privately owned in the world. They rehabilitate them and send them back to safe environments in the wild and the Aspinall Foundation has an 84% success rate which is phenomenal.
But this gorilla looked so so sad. I was right in front of her. I think she was jealous of the other two females in her cage who had newborn babies. She kept looking at the baby and looking sadder and sadder. But I also found it sad to see her so caged......

Another close up encounter with a beautiful rhino...loved accentuating the skin with the gritty filter on Picnik!

One of the fab things about the African Experience bit of Port Lympne zoo is how close you get to the animals. This was my favourite zebra shot..

And here is the beautiful birthday girl in her wild bohemian chic outfit. We all had a go trying on the hat but it suited Pearl best

This weekend I went with a gang of my friend Pearl's friends, to Port Lympne Zoo's Livingstone Lodge for her 40th Birthday. It was utterly brilliant and photos of the animals will follow. Amazing accomodation - tents but glamorous ones! Amazing food, amazing company. A great weekend

We snuck off to Sapporo for lunch before helping out with the bake sale. It was truly lovely to see Eli, Suzanna and Clare....and have yummy Bento - my grilled squid was the tastiest ever! Hoorah for girly lunch dates....

I can't take credit for this pic - my friend Heather took it - Toby had a truly abysmal day at school - hid in the playground and had 3 adults looking for him, trashed and destroyed a whole set of numeracy foam fishies, was generally a terror.
Heather sent me this pic of him singing beautifully in the Harvest Festival Assembly to show me he hadn't been bad ALL day.....

This is one of my favourite tackorama ornaments. It came from the seaside but I can't remember where....I had a whole series of fish on sticks that went with it but the boys have systematically smashed them over the years....but this little mermaid and her mad boobies has survived.I love her!

Knowing my passion for fairies, my sister bought me this - or she might have bought it for my scientist husband as a joke - I love it. It's totally fooled the kids who think it's definitely real.....

Fill in photos - nothing much going on to photograph so I decided to snap some of my more eclectic ornaments. I've had this big king frog candle holder for as long as I can remember....can't remember where he actually came from but I love him!

I had a birthday party today for twins and this was my boot - stuffed full of sparkly bag, puppets, parachute, speakers and bubbles. It was red hot, in a sweaty hall - but I think the kids enjoyed it...I was exhausted!

I had James and Claudia after school today while Clare went on her PAD trip to Edinburgh....I was nervous about walking FOUR children home from school but they were brilliant....
Of course Toby and James immediately stripped off and had a naked celebration on the trampoline....good job it was warm!
