Feeling a bit envious of the birthday fun...I finally cracked open my terramundi birthday pot that all my friends put monetary donations into for my 40th back at the beginning of the month. I had NO idea how much would be in there - it's my iphone fund....
My lovely lovely chums gave me in total £300. I'm a bloody lucky girl. I'm utterly grateful to everyone and totally overwhelmed. Once the iphone 5 is out, I should have enough to buy the 4....and I'm so happy!

For his seventh birthday party, like his sixth, Oz wanted a pool party - and brilliantly, a lot of the friends we invited at the end of last term turned up this year! Oz had a ball....

You may recall my bitter disappointment back in March (I think it was) when I saw the cast and crew screening of Jane Eyre and realised all the scenes I'd done had gone. I am still on screen in flashes but no dialogue.
However, prior to it's UK release in September, there's a clip on yahoo of Judi Dench and Mia Wasikowska and.....in the opening moment...me in the doorway!

I made an effort and cooked tonight - a weightwatchers recipe of Roast chicken with pesto veg. I think I miscalculated as it wasn't very pesto-ish....but it was still yummy and nice to actually sit down at the table and eat with Rob for a change....shame we had to wait till 9pm as Oscar wouldn't go to bed!

It was Clogsilk's daughter Claudia's 3rd birthday today (where did that go?) and she had a build-a-bear party. It was utter and wonderful chaos!
Oscar made a pink bunny called Flower and he is utterly in love with it. Toby chose a camouflage colored bear called "Superhero Power Bear"....yes....
It was a fab party and thank you birthday girl for inviting us!

We went to Upton Upon Severn this weekend for Rob's cousin Laura's wedding. Oscar was most excited to meet his Uncle Tom for the first time and of course, to show off his pokemon (Tom is an ex-collector). Tom had planned to bequest his old collection on his nephew...but Oz already had them all!

This is Herbie - officially the cutest baby boy I know.. (his middle name is Indiana and his surname is Jones - how cool is he gonna be?)
Oscar has just as big a crush on Herbie as he does on Alice and has been pestering me to invite him over....we had a lovely afternoon - Lisa (his mum) taught me to play 5 chords on the guitar, Oz had a go on a ukelele and we all had a jolly lovely sunny afternoon!

Clare has been on holiday for 2 weeks and I missed her dreadfully - but Toby also missed James and Claud a LOT!
We hit Danson Park on Monday - I'd never been there before but will definitely be there again - fab water fountains!

Kirsti went home today and I was too sad to take pics. So this was last night - Mum, Dad and Kirsti and I went to a fab fish and chip shop in Croydon....

Kirsti treated us to the London Eye - she paid for extra special tickets which included a film and a goody bag for the kids. The weather was grey but we had a ball - went up there on the boat, explored the beach huts, beach and giant furniture outside the National Theatre.
The boys had swirly pops and utter fun.

This has been the best birthday ever. I may have been freaking out about being 40 but everyone around me made such an effort to make me feel special, feel loved, feel fabulous....that I loved every second of it.

Thanks to my lovely sister (again) and to a fab deal on Groupon, Rob and I escaped to the Brooklands Hotel near Weybridge for a night away from the kids.

And so my birthday weekend begins....running round like a mad thing getting ready for my party....having my hair done for me by my amazing friend Claire, having fake eyelashes put on...
And the party itself was AMAZING. SO many people came - I was serenaded by my friend Lisa, I laughed, I ate sushi, I had a ball.
I haven't had a birthday party since I was about 12 so it was wonderful.....
